The Institute arrived in Korea in 1984, and in 2012 it was established a Delegation. Currently the Delegation is made up of five communities: the Novitiate in Hoengsong, the Juniorate in Seoul, the Casa Santo Domingo de Guzmán in Uijeongbu and two other communities in the parishes (Casa San José in Hoengsong and Casa Sagrada Familia in Seoul). The sisters of the Delegation exercise their apostolate in retreat house and spirituality center, youth and children’s centers owned by the Institute, and also in other institutions such as parishes, hospitals, children’s shelter, middle school, university, etc.

Communities

Casa “Misión Santo Domingo” y Juniorado – Seúl

In addition to being a formation house for the juniors, the sisters carry out different apostolates:

  • health ministry in the hospital
  • Domingo Spiritual Center (https://blog.naver.com/rosaop) Counseling and psychotherapy for spiritual and psychological healing and enrichment.
  • Domingo Youth Center (https://www.facebook.com/domingoyouth) To transmit the love of Christ through prayer, counseling and emotional companionship for young people, aimed specially to help them process personal experiences that have left wounds in their hearts.
Casa Noviciado “Santo Domingo de Guzmán” – Hoengseong

 It is the formation house for postulants and novices. The apostolates of the community are:

  • Dominican Retreat House (http://www.dominicoretreat.org/) We try to help the christian faithful live an evangelical life and deepen their spiritual life by facilitating encounter with God through silence and prayer. It offers people the possibility to do group or individual retreats.
  • Catarina Retreat House A place for individual, family and small group retreats. Each unit is equipped with a kitchen, living room and bedroom so that the retreatants can be by themselves

Saint Dominicus regional children’s center (https://www.facebook.com/domingochild/)

The apostolate of this community is to provide school support lessons to children of poor or working parents.

Casa San José – Hoengseong

The sisters collaborate in the pastoral ministry of the parish. One of them works in the parochial kindergarten school.
